New Delhi: The Union Minister announced JEE Mains to be held four times a year from the coming year. He revealed this announcement during the online interaction with teachers, parents, and students on board exams and competitive exams.

Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) Mains, whose score is considered for admissions into National Institutes of Technology (NITs), several other engineering and architecture courses, and for eligibility to write JEE- Advanced will be held four times starting in February 2021. In order to get admission into IITs, they’ll have to qualify JEE-Advance.
Until now, usually it is conducted twice a year. But as per the latest reports, this examination will now be held every month from February to May 2021 to provide flexibility to the candidates.
The announcement revealed by Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ further stated the candidates can choose to appear in one or all of the tests. However, the highest score among all will be considered for the rank list and admissions.
Due to COVID-19, JEE –Mains 2020 was held in September. Even though several stakeholders including students and parents moved the Supreme Court for further postponement citing safety concerns, the apex court refused to grant them any relief.
The NTA (National Testing Agency)assured the court that several arrangements will be in place to ensure hassle-free exam conduction for the students. It increased the number of exam centres to maintain physical distancing among the candidates. Also, assured regular disinfection of the premises, staggered entry and exit of students, etc arranged to ensure the safety of students.
