UGC: As per the statement of the officials, “The University Grants Commission (UGC) will disburse the pending emoluments to Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and Senior Research Fellows (SRF) within a week.”
Pending Scholarship Emoluments to be Disbursed Within a Week, Confirmed Officials
According to several research fellows, they weren’t receiving their JRF & SRF scholarship amount for a prolonged period.
Now, UGC is going to disburse the pending emoluments to JRFs and SRFs within a week. Rajnish Jain, the UGC Secretary said, “the disbursal was delayed due to some technical issues. The issues are now resolved for which the emoluments will be disbursed in a week.”
Along with this, the backlog will also be cleared and fellowships will be deposited in the respective accounts of the students within a week, he said.
The JRF is granted to only those student who qualifies UGC NET(National Eligibility Test)or CSIR(Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) NET conducted by the National Testing Agency as a joint test. The UGC NET and CSIR NET is conducted twice a year, usually in June and December.
However, the amount given for the fellowship scheme in JRF is Rs. 31,000. For SRF, it is Rs. 38,000.
The tenure of the UGC JRF fellowship is initially for two years. Subsequently, the Junior Research Fellowship is converted to Senior Research Fellowship after fulfillment of the requisite conditions.
